Nick Farina Senior Co-Founder During his career in management and marketing, Nick held many positions that gave him the experience to help young Chinese. He was hiring officer for hundreds of candidates for U.S. companies and was responsible for employee evaluations. He also has been an adjunct professor and lecturer at Northwestern, University of Illinois, and other elite universities. His career includes President of an investment bank; CEO of a branding and marketing firm, and CMO of an enterprise software company.
Jing Zhao Cesarone Co-Founder After achieving two degrees from top universities in China, Jing became a business journalist and on-camera reporter for an international TV network. She then secured a great job with Siemens to develop its brand in China. After coming to the U.S. and earning a master’s degree, she enjoyed a career in PR and marketing and later worked with Fortune 500 clients producing business strategy summits. In 2001, she started ChinaWise, following her passion and long time dream of bridging China and the U.S. in business and culture. In addition, she is the founder of Uenjoy Club and a board member at National Association of Women Business Owners in Chicago.
Angela Zhao Angela is president of Columba Industries Corporation assisting Chinese manufacturing companies in expanding their businesses in North America. She also teaches at Loyola University. She has more than 20 years of experience in international business, including manufacturing, international business development, and global strategic sourcing in aerospace, IC, house ware and electronics. Angela holds a B.E. from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, MBA from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management, and M.S. in Computer Science from Loyola University Chicago.
Tom Marnell Tom is a professor of marketing, teaching graduate level classes. He has seen first hand how Asian students perform in class and looks forward to explaining successful class performance. He also will teach how to apply marketing concepts so that students can use them to market themselves. Tom also is a researcher and data base expert. He will help students organize and follow up with their job searches. Tom also is a customer-relations expert and designs databases that go far beyond being a depository of names. His databases provide invaluable insight into the minds of potential employers.
Ken LeBahn Is a top recruiter willing to share his knowledge with young people. He has more than 20 years experience in talent acquisition for major corporations. He manages full lifecycle recruiting projects from the intake session through candidate development, interviewing/assessment, and offer and on-boarding. He has hired in a variety of fields, including publishing, tax & accounting, legal, financial services, healthcare, telecommunications and manufacturing. He understands the variety of sources hiring managers use, including job boards, LinkedIn and social media. He is adept at communicating with diverse audiences, and navigating corporate infrastructure. He also is expert at diversity and compliance.
Joseph M. Cesarone Co-Founder Joe understands science, technology and business. As an informatics scientist and business analyst, Joe worked for 20 years in the scientific informatics division at Abbott Laboratories, where he was the recipient of a 2009 Bio-IT World Best Practices Award in Knowledge Management. He has also consulted with various life sciences and software companies, and he is a founding partner of ChinaWise, where he focuses on the U.S.-China chemical, food and beverage trade. With many of our students studying science and technology, Joe can help them succeed both in school and their careers. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
